As Ural Airline is based on a European Country and therefore is registered under the European Law and will have to follow the EU Air passenger right following EC Regulation 261/2004. EU law states that if a person travelling through a flight has been delayed for more than 3 hours or if the flight has been cancelled without any prior notice then they are entitled to get up to 600€ from the airlines as compensation for the distress caused.

UralAirlines operates domestic and international flights from Koltsovo International Airport and has its base at Yekaterinburg, Russia. It was founded in the year 1943 as Sverdlovsk State Air Enterprises, which later became part of Aeroflot, the Soviet State Airline. After its split from Aeroflot on 28th December 1993, it became a joint stock company working under the Russian Federation and its business separated from the airport.
It was re-established as Ural Airlines.It is one of the biggest airline in Russia. Currently the company is owned by Ural Wings (65.77%) and Ural Transport Bank (14.67%). Over the years the airline has seen a steady increase in the number of passengers carried through, it ranked 6th in Russia amongst all the airlines having transported 5,200millionpassengers in the last year. It has won 14 Russian National Aviation Awards, which is also known as “Wings of Russia”.

The airline has 34 fleets under its name as of April 2015. It comprises of 5 Airbus A319s, 19 Airbus A320s and 10 Airbus A321s which flies to 40 destinations. The airline’s secondary hub is located at Saint-Petersburg-Pulkovo & Moscow-Domodedovo. Types of services onboard
The airline has 4 types of services available for its passengers depending upon the passenger’s needs and the flights’ durations. In ascending order, the Economy Class is for the people who like to travel economically. The services that are offered in this class are drinks, standard meals. Then there is Economy Plus Class which is offered to people who like to upgrade while booking their tickets and the confirmation will be given prior to boarding the flight. Comfort Class is a class higher than the Economy Plus Class and has services equivalent to the Business Class but the fares are 10-15% less than the Business Class. And the last is the Business Class which has a separate check-in counter, have access to free notifications via SMS regarding the flights status, special luggage allowance, complimentary drinks, food and a dedicated steward to help them.
Ural Airlines flights have been on schedule 72% of the time with no reports of any diversion. However, the airline has a delayed percentage of 24% and the flights have been cancelled 2% of the time. These statistics are for the period of 15th November 2015 to 15th January 2016. This shows that though the airline has already made a name of itself, they tend to have delays or cancellation for reasons that could have been easily taken care of.
